Who We Are

Cape de Coeur is the expression of my life’s work.

I was born into the culture of European design, shaped by Vienna’s artistic heritage and trained within the discipline of fashion and technical innovation. My career has taken me from owning my own label in the late 1990s to costume design, runway illustration in Paris, and over two decades of leading technical apparel design for internationally renowned sport performance brands.

I have lived in two worlds:
the old-world precision of European couture
and the new-world innovation of Vancouver, a global center of technical apparel.

Cape de Coeur is where these worlds meet.

I created this house to redefine what technical outerwear can be, sculptural, intelligent, uncompromising. A garment that protects without diminishing presence.

We do not follow seasons. We do not follow trends.
Because our capes are meant to be timeless yet always current.

We release only when a piece is fully realized, when it meets my standard of excellence in both beauty and performance.

Cape de Coeur exists in a rare space:

Our Mission - Why We Exist

We exist to redefine what weather protection looks and feels like.

Technical outerwear has long prioritized function over beauty.
High fashion has long neglected performance to solve a wearer's paintpoint.

We believe that compromise is outdated.

Our mission is to unite sculptural beauty with uncompromising performance, to create garments that move seamlessly across contexts, from city to coast, from business meetings to cocktail events, without diminishing presence while shielding you against wind and rain.

We design for those who expect more:

Why The Cape ?

I was once asked in a press interview, “Why capes?” My answer was immediate:
“I love the drama. I love the history of the cape and how powerful it can make you feel on a psychological level.”

The cape has always been more than a garment. It carries centuries of symbolism, of strength, protection, authority, romance. It transforms posture. It alters presence. It moves with intention.

But beyond its emotional power, the cape is also profoundly intelligent.

Unlike a traditional coat, it allows air to circulate freely beneath it. Your garments remain unwrinkled. Your silhouette remains uninterrupted. What you wear underneath is not compressed, it is preserved.

It protects what matters.

A beautiful handbag rests securely beneath it. A tailored jacket maintains its structure.The cape offers freedom of movement without confinement. It shields without restricting.

For me, it was never about designing another coat.

It was about reclaiming a form that is at once historic and modern, dramatic yet practical, architectural yet fluid.

The cape is protection elevated, and when engineered with precision, it becomes power.

What We Believe In

We believe beauty and performance are equals.

For too long, fashion and function have existed in opposition - one privileging aesthetics, the other utility. We reject that division.

We believe true luxury is intelligent.

It is not excess.
It is not noise.
It is not a logo.

Luxury is precision. Integrity. Intention.

We believe the inside of a garment matters as much as the outside. Every seam, every finish, every hidden detail must be as considered as the silhouette it supports.

We believe in human creativity.

Our campaigns, craftsmanship, and artistic direction are created by real people. We work with highly skilled photographers, human models, styling experts, and makeup artists, and every image and every film is carefully produced by hand and by eye. We do not use AI-generated visuals. Technology supports our process where useful, but it never replaces human creativity.

We believe in independence.

We are not driven by seasons or trends. We release when a piece is ready, when it meets our standard. Nothing leaves our atelier until it performs impeccably and presents beautifully.
